Getting Red Carpet Ready?
The Oscars are coming! And with it, an excessively long and drawn out awards ceremony that almost certainly leaves some starlets a bit starved for some food (if not attention ;).
A delectable dinner's divine, but when served much too late, it leaves Hollywood stomachs rumbling and a feeling of can't-we-just-get-this- over-with itis. Stop the madness!
Your secret weapon's locked and loaded... and delivers that sugar punch when you need it most. See?
What every self-respecting starlet needs at the Oscars
Not only SPANX goes under that gown, sweetheart ;)
Open in case of emergency ;)
So...what's under your outft?
Gotta keep your things near (...why not tell us, here! :)
For the love of SPANX...what kind of message are we sending to society?
Living in this day and age, one cannot deny the success and influence of one of the most powerful and (financially) successful entrepreneurs of our time, Sara Blakely. The creator of SPANX has been lauded by Oprah, praised by the (then) First Lady, and given millions of women around the world a reason to feel more comfortable in their own skin. All of these are good things. And yet...

The irony is...if you really think about it... one main premise of SPANX is that it's built around the mindset that women should look a certain way to be attractive and acknowledged. While I have no problem if people want to wear these shapers if they choose to and if it makes them feel better about themselves, great! ...but should people feel any less worthy if they choose not to?
Empowering women (and men) is good. But should we be perpetuating the skewed societal view that women are objects and how they look is of utmost importance? It's not Sara's fault that our society values physical beauty over intangible qualities, but must we keep buying into the notion that that is our best asset?
How about you?
What do you think?

Oscars coming! What's the best thing to wear under your outfit since SPANX (... & even for Ellen, too)?
Glam gals walking down that red carpet seem to have it all put together...the dresses are gorgeous and the ensembles impeccable. Who doesn't have fun just taking in the whole spectacle? Even though they may seem to be beyond mortal at times, those startlets are just people. And they suffer from the same human condition that the rest of us do. To look as fabulous as possible, no doubt many of them are sporting undergarments to accomplish this. With Oprah having propelled SPANX to worldwide success a decade ago, that's probably the brand of choice. But as fantastic and confidence-buillding as those shapers may be, they still can't solve all women's issues or give gals peace of mind in a different category...
WHERE do they put their STUFF?!
Let's be real. How many outfits (and especially dresses) ever have pockets? Or pockets that actually work. And fit the things you need. Like your cell phone, among other things. And sure, while gals do indeed carry designer purses, a bag is rather difficult to mind all night, especially when stars are out dancing or getting a little tipsy at those after-parties. And don't think their honey is standing right there with that tampon when they make an emergency dash to the restroom!
Smart gals know the solution.
