Having a SUPER Sunday?
It's Super Bowl Sunday in the USA!
Who do you think will win? It's Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos vs the upstart Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. For me, it's a toss up and a game I really don't mind who comes out on top. Just as long as it's competitive and fun to watch :)
Even though my fav team the Bears are out this year, at least both teams on the field today have some Bears connection, having been previously coached by our current Head, John Fox! ;) And of course there's Ron Rivera. Now the successful 3-time NFC South Champion Head Coach of the Panthers, he was also one of the famed Super Bowl XX Champion 1985 Chicago Bears.
But maybe the 'winner' will actually be the commercials...because everyone knows the advertisers spend BIG bucks outdueling each other to see who has the best spot. ;)
Or, how about the winner is YOU. Because now you can always hands-free carry what you NEED, so you never have to lose your important items again...AND you can get into the stadiums despite the NFL Bag Ban. woo hoo!!!! It's #PortaPocket ...for the WIN!! xoxo
Welcome to the Party! (part 2)
Let the fun continue! On our last post we'd discussed other products that are like PortaPocket in that they help people hands-free carry things, but may not be as beneficial since they encourage users to keep cell phones or other essentials near (or on top of) the chest area.
Seeing that it's almost Super Bowl time, let's now look at products with which people can hands free carry things into stadiums.
Maybe you've heard of Scottevest... it's an interesting line of clothes that have a multitude of pockets which is definitely of use to get past the NFL Bag Ban thing. I even have some of their line myself and do indeed like much of it. But sometimes too much is too much. Good things are good to a point, but then they can become overkill. For instance, I wore my SeV vest to a Bears game last year, and literally lost my sunglasses in the garment. Sure you can blame it on user error, but it's just easier if you have a way to know where your stuff is without checking 20+ places to figure it out. At least that's just me ;)
Another thing to be mindful about SeV clothing is if you load up your vest or jacket with your valuables (with everything in its place which is good!) but then you get hot so you want to take off your jacket or vest ...and now you have put your things down over ...there (which is bad). One way to get around that is to use PortaPocket in concert with Scottevest, as THAT way you have all your bases covered.
What do you think?
Are too many pockets GOOD? ...or not so good?
Stay tuned to this space as we continue the convo with products that can be used for running or exercise...

What to do about that NFL Bag Ban...

You've probably heard by now that there are new rules on what fans can now acceptably carry into stadiums. After the Boston Marathon bombing, pro sports organizations have had their hand forced to make changes in order to improve safety of the situation...or at least make an effort to. And although it really may be just that, it can come off as rather anti-women with these restrictions on purses.
Here's info on the whole enchilada:

SO are you thinking you can't carry what you need now?
No worries... PortaPocket to the rescue! Although women may be griping about having to carry their unmentionables in those NFL approved clear bags, you really don't have to. Just think of it like you're going on vacation to an unknown...and maybe not the safest....area. "Concealed carry" is the key. And you'll never be forced to expose your time-of-month things, again ;)

Who's been watching the World Cup?
I guess I should know a little bit more about what is going on here (considering it's been in the news everyday), but honestly I really haven't been paying much attention. One thing I do know is there's a big viewing party in Chicago scheduled for tomorrow and I thought of going down there (wearing my leg, 'natch) for the fun of it, but the wee one wants to go swimming, so...
family first!
I hope those who have ventured to Rio are enjoying the festivities and the electric atmosphere...and finding Brazil a welcome host. One day I'll get down there, too....
